"The Affirmation" is the new solo album from former Kiss My Poodles Donkey and Monroe's Fur percussionist David Bullock.
This is an album of soundscapes created solely by percussive devices, particularly of the gong family, such as pulsewash gongs, water gongs, tam - tams and bonang, as well as a host of unusual instruments such as thunderwhips, ogororos , spacetubes and many seldom heard metallic sound makers. Much of the music is created by doing strange things to odd objects.
Often known as The Hitter for his work in Industrial music, David takes us with this release to a region which is more a mix of pre- and post- industrial sounds.
In some ways this album is a return to experimental roots, and while much of The Affirmation might fall into the broadly ambient category, it dwells mainly in the darker end of that musical spectrum.
